In this workshop you will learn how to incorporate additional materials like scrim, muslin, silks and more into your wet felting. By strategically adding “extras” like curly wool locks, to create 3D textures, silks for shimmer, and scrim/lace/muslin between the layers for a little added structure, you can transform flat fabric into something much more interesting.

In this workshop you will learn how to incorporate additional materials like scrim, muslin, silks and more into your wet felting.

By strategically adding “extras” like curly wool locks, to create 3D textures, silks for shimmer, and scrim/lace/muslin between the layers for a little added structure, you can transform flat fabric into something much more interesting. This technique invites you to be experimental and playful with your materials and moving forward is something that you can add to your felting projects in the future.

We will be working with a simple natural palette on the day so that our focus will be on the texture of the piece rather than the design.

Some knowledge of wet felting would be helpful for this class.

Workshop venue: 96 Leamington Rd, Kenilworth CV8 2AA (garden studio).

All materials and refreshments included.

Please bring a large towel, rubber gloves, a waterproof apron and a plastic bag to take wet things home.
